SMS and MMS Delivery Reports

SMS Delivery Report Statuses

Delivered: SMS is successfuly delivered to recepients handset.

Failed: The SMS has been rejected by the carrier, possible reason: mobile number is disconnected or blocked by the carrier.

Rejected: Mobile phone might be switched off, outside of network, network failure or mobile phone number does not exist.

Pending: The SMS/MMS has been processed by our system and sent to the carriers. We are expecting a status update from the carriers. In case a mobile phone is switched off or outside of network, it might take up to 3 days to update the status.

MMS Delivery Report Statuses

Delivered: MMS is successfuly delivered to recepients handset.

Opened & Delivered: MMS can have status "Opened" or "Delivered", which means that both statuses are "Delivered".  Some carriers return delivery reports as "Opened", which means the MMS is opened and read on the phone. Other carriers return status only as "Delivered", which means that they are not providing "Open" status, but the MMS is successfully delivered to handset.  In addition, if MMS are rejected by carriers, we may send SMS with URL of the MMS resource.  In this case, the SMS status would be "Delivered".

Failed: The SMS has been rejected by the carrier, possible reason: mobile number is disconnected or blocked by the carrier.
